Dermal removal is a professional procedure to safely remove a dermal anchor that has migrated, rejected, become irritated, or is no longer wanted.
The removal process is carried out using sterile equipment and aseptic techniques to minimise trauma to the surrounding tissue. The area is carefully assessed beforehand to determine the safest removal method based on the placement, condition of the dermal, and stage of healing.
During the procedure:
• The surrounding tissue is gently released
• The anchor is removed with minimal disruption
• The area is cleaned and dressed appropriately
After removal, you will be given aftercare instructions to support healing and reduce the risk of scarring or infection.
Please note:
• Dermal removal is not a piercing service
• Some redness, tenderness, or minor scarring is normal
• Re-piercing in the same area is not always recommended and should be discussed during consultation
